Then and Now

I just got a text from a good friend and an awesome artist. I had given her a couple pics that I had taken of my little ones and asked her to draw them for me in exchange for me taking some pics of her art. Well life gets hectic and we both completely forgot about stuff, and she texts me out of the blue today telling me she finished my daughter's drawing though she probably looks nothing like that anymore. I told her I had completely forgot about them but I had to go dig up the pics I had given her so I could see just how much Rory has changed this past year. Let me tell you WOW! My kids sure have changed this year. Rory doesn't look nearly as much like a baby as she used to! And Logan actually looks like a lil person now instead of a roly poly baby!

Rory Then
I can't decide???

Rory refused to look at me for 99.9% of the pictures lol

Christmas Pictures (take 1)

Well I curled the lil boogers hair for her and Logan's christmas pictures. I decided to do my first attempt at them today. Anyways, her hair came out better this time than last :)

Here she is with her hair all curly and cute. I tried bribing her with M&M's to get her to look at the camera. Instead, she conned me out of M&M's and still refused to look! lol lil booger

I get home from work today (around 11am) and find my kids STILL in their pj's lol. I decided to try curling Rory's hair again, which went fine. Then I wanted to take pics with the curlers in her hair....

Pajamma buddies!!!

I love it when my kids are in these pj's! I just think they look SO dang adorable! I had to bribe them with Toy Story to get them to sit together on the couch... well actually Rory was fine sitting with Logan on the couch I had to bribe Logan lol. Regardless, I have come to the conclusion that my couch is my favorite place to take pictures of my little ones!

Logan decided he needed a closer look of Toy Story (that movie has got to be Logan's all time favorite movie he will sit and watch the ENTIRE thing!)

Scott and Christine

I had a great time shooting this wedding! They got married in the beautiful Mitten Building in down town Redlands! Everyone was so sweet and their colors were awesome!!! My second all time favorite color combo (light blue and brown)!!! I have been so busy I haven't had time to edit a lot of pictures, but I wanted to throw up a few of my fav's. I couldn't resist the detail shots.

You can just see how happy Christine is to be marrying this man!!!

My Rory

I have the hardest time styling Rory's hair. She has this funky lil mullet and I can't bare to cut it because it has taken her her entire life for it to finally start growing lol. So with the holidays fast approaching i thought I'd buy some sponge curlers and see how that worked. So today for the first time ever I tried to curl Rory's hair. She looked so cute I had to take pictures! Oh and LET ME TELL YOU she was being SUCH a ham!!! She kept "posing" for the camera and yelling CHEESE. This totally cracked me up because I have NEVER asked her to say cheese, I have never asked ANYONE to say cheese for that matter lmao. Here are a couple shots from today's lil Rory Session haha

Long weekends

I absolutely LOVE long weekends. This weekend would be a 4 day weekend, however, I did a wedding on Saturday so it is more like a 3 day weekend. So far this weekend I have been super busy! Saturday's wedding I must say was beautiful!!! Christine's colors were one of my two all time favorite color combos! Baby blue and brown!!! My other favorite combo is pink and brown ;) I hope to have Christine and Scott's sneak peak up soon but as I said it has been a super busy weekend.

Yesterday we went out into the cold and went to Disneyland! It was so much fun! There were a ton of gothics there it was like a convention or something, and part of me longed to dye my hair black again and sport my vintage black gothic dress. My husband doesn't quite understand just how goth I used to be hehe, but I guess I shouldn't blame him that was many years ago and well before I ever met him. I think I may have dyed my hair black once since we've been together and I didn't even sport my "other" wardrobe hahaha. But again that was several years ago!

Today has been a roller coaster of a day. I woke up to two beautiful extremely cranky children! I have been playing "clown" all day trying to keep them entertained, but I think Logan may be coming down with something he felt a bit warm when I was putting him to bed. *sigh* I hope my little man doesn't get sick again!!! Rory was a bit of a terror today, although I can't say I blame her, whenever Logan is cranky it takes attention away from her and she tends to be a typical 2.5 year old and get slightly jealous. Besides the cranky kids, I have been up to my ears in editing, I have 2 weddings I'm working on as well as a birthday party, and I am trying to get my hubby's butt in gear on whether his friend wants a CD of his newborn son's pics or if he wants prints lol.

Well it is 7:47pm and my little one's are finally asleep, and my tummy is full of candy! You gotta love the day/week after halloween candy sales! I think when we finish these several bags, I will be good for another year HAHA. I am not a big candy person and I've been eating it a ton. But hey gaining a LITTLE weight never hurt anyone right?!?! hahahah

California's Ban on Gay marriage

Wow, I am really saddened by this. It is not that I am for gays/lesbians but I am completely and 100% for equality. I don't see how we can end hate crimes when we make every effort to make people be seen differently. Whether you believe those who are gay are going to hell or not shouldn't matter, what should matter is that we treat people the same. It shouldn't matter people's race, religion, gender or sexual preference, we are all people and the fact that prop 8 passed has truly saddened me today and I only see this as a setback for how far america has come in treating people equally. I guess according to californians not all people deserve the same rights :(

Regardless of whether you believe gay marriage is bad/good shouldn't matter. It isnt about that. It is about taking away someone's right to marry the person they love. It is about changing the constitution to discriminate against one group of people. That in itself is appalling. It doesn't matter to me what those people have "chosen" to be it matters to me that they are people and aren't allowed the right to marry. Civil Unions are NOT the same as a marriage in California, because they are NOT allowed the same rights as those who are legally married. In fact civil unions are only equal in spousal rights in 4 states (Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, & New Hampshire) So yes although they are allotted some rights under civil unions they are not allowed all of them. Besides that separating marriages into 2 different categories in my opinion is no different than segregation.

All I can think of is our past. At one point blacks were slaves, women were not allowed to vote, and interracial marriages were illegal. When will people get it? It isn't about race, religion, gender or sexual preference it is about what America was founded on and that being that ALL people have the RIGHT to be treated equally no matter what their beliefs.

Ok vent over

Election Day

I HATE presidential elections. The reason behind my hating them is the fact that I think our system is so beyond flawed that we end up hurting ourselves time and time again. I think it is ridiculous that we divide within our own country. By that I mean, democrat/republican. I hate that the majority of people always say well vote for the "lesser of 2 evils" I honestly wish that all of the different "parties" would be done away with. If instead we could look past the different parties and actually look at what candidate would truly be best for the job than maybe we could get back on the right track. I hear so many people say I'm republican/democrat and they ALWAYS vote that way, I think it is sad that they stick with the same thing they always are instead of giving ALL candidates a fair chance at truly winning their vote. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE this country that I live in, I just think it is silly that we separate and divide within our own system. I truly wish we would do what our pledge says and stand united, instead of divided. There is always either a democrat/republican in office, most people don't even bother looking at the other candidates because they don't think they can win so why bother looking. Did you know that in 1992 Ross Perot lead in the polls for president up until the actual election happened. Why is that? Because he wasn't democrat OR republican so he had no chance of becoming president. I think the entire thing is absurd, I truly believe that WE as a COUNTRY need to quit thinking in the "lesser of 2 evils" and actually vote for who WE believe to be the best person for the job whether that person be democrat, republican, or an independent, it shouldn't matter, until WE do that then our votes truly DON'T matter. Sadly though until our country actually does away with this separation (or the country as a whole decides to act differently) we are going to be in the same vicious cycle election after election.
