My Christmas Wish

Have you ever met someone without meeting them? Talked to someone online and just known that they are a wonderful person? Well I have met someone like that. Her name is Kathleen. I have talked with her practically every day for the past 3 or more years. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met. Sadly though Kat has been longing for something that only God can give her. She is longing for a baby. Her and her husband Eric have decided to go the adoption route. Today was a hard day for our dear sweet Kat. Yesterday she received a call saying she had a 50% chance of bringing home her sweet baby today. Unfortunately, the birth mom chose another family. Although I know in my heart that there must be a reason Kat didn't get her baby today, I can't help but grieve along with her. So today, I am making a wish. Christmas is a magical time of year, and miracles happen every day. Every year people wish for material objects and spend hundreds/thousands of dollars on things that in time will mean very little. Well this year I wish and pray that Kat and Eric will get their baby before the new year. I don't care to receive any material possession, I simply wish for her to be able to hold a little baby, to have sleepless nights while her child cries, to see that babies first smile, to hold him/her when they are sick and to be able to comfort him/her. So tonight when you hug your children, and kiss their beautiful little heads good night, think of the women like Kat who desperately long for a child of their own. If you are at all thankful for the unconditional love you have for your child, I encourage you to say a little prayer for my dear kathleen that her prayers of feeling that love will be answered soon.

Hey Jenilee!! I KNOW just what you're friend is going thru. We went thru the same thing. For 13 years I went thru every fertility proceedure possible and then decided on adoption. We waited for quite some time and then my husband and I decided that maybe we just weren't meant to have children. So I was supposed to call the lawyer and put everything on hold. Well I had an unexpected business trip that I had to go on and postponed calling the lawyer til I got back. Well on my way back from work I meant to call the lawyer but someone called me and I got distracted and forgot to call. I'm NOT kidding you, but one hour later my phone rang and it was the lawyer telling me that a baby was born that morning and asked if we were interested!!!!! HONEST!!! We went and met the birthmother a few hours later and then brought our Zachary home the very next day from the hospital. So PLEASE keep the faith! IT WILL HAPPEN!!

One other piece of news....years ago I was told of some medication that might help me get pregnant. Its called METFORMIN. I asked the dr about it and was told "No No No. You don't have PCOS so that medicine won't work" Well last February my husband and I went on a trip to Mexico and we went to a pharmacia to pick up some tylenol before we came back over the border. Well I saw a sign for Metformin and decided to buy a bottle just for the heck of it. It was only $20. Well let me just tell you that as of tomorrow I will be exactly 6 months PREGNANT!!! I'm NOT saying that this medicine works for everyone but it DID work for me after 16 years and MANY MANY infertility treatments. I have talked to many nurses and drs recently and have been told "Isn't that medication GREAT!?!? We hear that story all the time of people taking metformin and all of a sudden they are pregnant!" PLEASE PLEASE understand that I have been given hope to see it taken away soooooo many times myself thru this process but everything happens for a reason when it does happen.

My thoughts are with your friend Kathleen! Best wishes. IT WILL HAPPEN!!!
